Baehrden Lodge was built in 1927 to serve as a summer home for William A. Baehr — a Chicago utilities magnate — and his family. In 1986, Jefferson County Open Space acquired the property and slowly been renovating it ever since. Visitors can tour the property on Sundays, starting in June.
